Security Officer Guard Card Training and Refresher Courses
Level 1-3
This is the most recommended, and cost effective approach to attaining your Guard Card (with $50 discount for registering for all three levels at once). This fully comprehensive course is 40 hours (5 days) in length and provides you with all certifications and knowledge required to start your career in the private security industry.
Level 1
This course is the first 8 hours of training that is required to apply for your Guard Card. The majority of instruction in this course is focused on powers to arrest and weapons of mass destruction.
Level 2

Level 3
This 16-hour course is taken following level 2. Please click on button below for a detailed breakdown of the curriculum, which includes but is not limited to legal aspects pertaining to security officers and associated constitutional law.
Refresher
This eight-hour refresher course is approved by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services is required to be taken annually by all security officers in California.
